Health Care and Clinical Services

-
In the first year of Health Science, students complete two foundational courses (each 1 Carnegie unit, earning a total of 2 credits).
- Health Science Core I introduces students to the healthcare field and the wide variety of career opportunities it offers. Students cover topics such as safety, infection control, medical terminology, and legal/ethical practices, concluding with anatomy and physiology of the integumentary system and related disorders.
- Health Science Core II builds on these foundations by studying major body systems (muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, and sensory). Students also explore careers in depth, practice identifying diseases/disorders, and create a digital portfolio to support future career advancement.
Students are encouraged to join HOSA – Future Health Professionals, where they can develop leadership, teamwork, and career-ready skills through health science competitions and events.
